We are very excited to welcome everyone to Pacific Coast School’s 2017/18 school year. It is going to be a fabulous year of discovery and learning. There are some positive changes as we say our heartfelt goodbyes to some former staff and welcome our new staff members. Our school has some great new teachers coming on this year:
- Ms. Manpreet Cody: Ms. Cody will be teaching Math/Sciences. She will be building on Ms. Sandhu’s successes and bringing her own style and engagement to the classroom. Ms. Cody has been with the district as a TTOC previously and has worked in PCS before.
- Mr. Tyler Emoff: Mr. Emoff will be teaching Humanities. He will also be our LST (Learning Service Teacher). Mr. Emoff comes from the greater Toronto area and has been working as a teacher on a First Nations Reserve in Northern Ontario. He will be replacing Mr. Janz. We look forward to him bringing his eastern Canadian perspective and style to the classroom.
- Ms. Lori Leighton: Many of you may know Ms. Leighton from other schools in the district and most recently PRMS. Ms. Leighton will be our new school counsellor in addition to teaching Grad Transitions/Planning 12. She will only be at PCS part time. The rest of her time she will be at PRMS.
If you were attending PCS at the end of June 30th, 2017 and did not receive a withdrawal letter or graduated, then you are already registered for the 2017/18 school year. If you have never attended PCS, or were withdrawn for any reason, then you must register to attend PCS. In order to attend PCS you must also go through an application and interview process.
Registration will begin on Monday, August 29th, 2017 @ 9:00am. Currently we do not have a digital application so you will have to come in to the school to pick up an application form.
