Weekly Outline: Nov. 20th to Nov. 24th

We have a very busy week coming up. There are three special presentations coming up. Agree or disagree with it, the fact remains that Marijiuana will be legalized for recreational use by adults; however, we also know that, eventhough youth should use marijuana, they do. Thus  on Nov. 21st we will be having a “Smoking & Marijuana” presentation to better inform you of the consequences and risks of smoking cigarettes and marijuana in addition to harm reduction. On November 22nd all Grade 12s are going on a mandatory adventure to the NWCC Open House. If you have not already registered for courses please do so immediately. Finally on Nov. 23rd the nurses will be back to talk about Naloxone Awareness. As I’m sure you are aware there is a opioid crisis. Even if you don’t use drugs, or don’t know people who do use drugs, it is imperative to know this information as you could save a life. Finally, towards the end of the day we will be having a presentation by Archie and Nichole from Hartley Bay. This will be in preparation for our Clam and Cockle Digging TREC which should happen early Dec.

Remember that there is a Pro-D on Friday, Nov. 24th. So no school for the students.

Cell phone usage has become a problem again. Students are not using the pouches or lieing about having their phones. Well up to this point the staff has been doing their best to work with students the staff has been met with rude behaviour and obfuscation. Thus the staff has agreed to implement the following rules:

Cellphone Policy

This weeks Cell Phone Tokens for positive cell phone usage:

  • Kiara Brown
  • David Swanson
  • Rubbyn Steppler
  • Zack Hill
  • Aaron Sweetnam
  • Kennedi Sampson
  • Xavier Reece
  • Sofia McKay
  • Tawni Reece
  • Christina McKay

Couch Usage: The couches have also become an issue. Students are lying on them, eating on them and attempting to use them during academic blocks. Please remember the couch rules:

  1. Loomsk other peoples desires to use the couch and do not lay on them. (You are allowed to use the recliners)
  2. Practice Amanii and do not eat on the couch. This just makes them nasty for everyone else.
  3. Couches are not to be used during academic blocks.
