Weekly Outline: Sept 17th – Sept. 20th

Week 3 of 39. That means you have 36 more weeks of school left. Plenty of time to complete everything you need to this year.

Mr. Janz will not be with us this week due to a surgery he is having. He regrets having to be gone but he looks forward to coming back healthier and ready to work with all his awesome students.

With Mr. Janz gone you have the great honour of having Ms. Wells as your amazing principal 2.0. Many of you know Ms. Wells from last year and she is pretty much an honorary staff member at this point. Thanks Ms. Wells for taking the reins.

Announcements

This Friday is a regular Friday. “Fun Fridays” will start in October. Next week we will roll out the voting for Fun Friday which will happen on Oct. 5th. Fun Fridays will be based on how many “sign-outs” and “principal referrals” the school does within a week. If there are too many sign-outs or principal referrals for the week, Fun Friday will not happen. This is a collective process meant to highlight how we are all interconnected. We rise and fall based on our collective action.

Remember your electives in the afternoon. Please check the timetable. I don’t thank many if anyone showed up to Foods last week.

CHECK IN WITH TEACHERS: Study Block Cards will be given out by teachers. Before working in the common area please check-in with the teacher.

Our annual Bowling TREC will be happening on Sept. 28th. Everyone is welcome on this TREC. The school will be shut down for this day as all staff and students are welcome to go.

Spanish is happening and will begin this week. This will be in the mornings and afternoon (Spanish Study Group). If you want to know if you are enrolled take to Ms. Cody. You need to be committed or your spot will be given to someone else.

PCS is offering WHMIS and Food Safe Certification in October. WHMIS will be on Oct. 12th and Food Safe around mid to late October. The date is still being finalized. Space is limited and priority will be given to Grade 12, then 11, then 10. We will also consider attendance. There is a sign-up sheet.
