Weekly Outline: Oct. 15th – Oct. 19th

Week 7 of 39. That means you have 32 more weeks of school left.

For those of you who did not make it to the TREC on Friday you really missed out. It was really an epic time. I mean, how many of you have been in a vehicle and had the tire explode on you? And after that drive out to a volcano and hike up to ground zero to look into the abyss and survive. Ok, well maybe it wasn’t the abyss but it was still amazing to look into the centre of a volcano.

Also, over the weekend I got an amazing video from Archie and Nicole who visited PCS last year to talk about whales. They saw over 40 whales out in a channel close to Hartley Bay the other day:

Announcements

Remember your electives in the afternoon. Please check the timetable.

CHECK IN WITH TEACHERS: Study Block Cards will be given out by teachers. Before working in the common area please check-in with the teacher.

FoodSafe This Week:

We will be having FoodSafe this week. It will be on Wednesday and Thursday and it will be an all day course from 9:15am to 3:30pm. Please be here at around 9 and I will drive everyone over. Mr. Devin will be joining the group both as a student and to help out.

Calls Home When Absent:

We have now setup our automated system to phone home when you are absent. Not sure if anyone noticed the phone call on Thursday. That was the first day it was setup. It is also important that you sign for both AM and PM or you might get a call home despite being here. It is also important to do that for safety of both yourselves and others anyway so you should get in the habit of doing that.

Fundraising and Grads:

This weekend on the 20th we will be having a fundraising event. Jan and Ms. Stone will be there from 9:30-12:00. We are looking for volunteers to help out. Your help will go towards funding this school and all the fun stuff we do. Additionally you will receive planning credit along with potential credit in your other classes if you organize something with the respective teachers.

Grad Meeting:

Meetings with all the grads will be this week on Tuesday Oct. 16th. It is important that all Grads for this year show up so we can begin planning for both fundraising and what you want to do with your grad this year.

Fun Friday Vote:

We are voting on Fun Friday for Friday, Oct. 26th. From the Link menu on this website select “Fun Friday Vote”. Just a note that I have been told that Laser Tag might no longer be an option. I will have to look into that one.
